With someone openly recording it right in front of me with a nice bright display and also a toddler a few seats down who was a wreck by 12:30 AM when the movie got out. This is why I rarely go to the theaters.
Yeah, not a fan. Some great moments, but I didn't enjoy that. Tony dying right as the magic and cosmic sides of the universe are opening up sucked, and his monologue sort of rubbed it in. Him dying like that just doesn't feel like a good ending to me. Him retiring, even injured, would be great. He used to make tech toys for bad people. Retiring to make tech for good people, his friends, would have been such a good ending for him.
Even that aside, the plot felt messy. I am not much of a MCU Cap fan but, that Steve ending didn't seem great to me. I will need to check in with Steve fans on that.
Even 1/3rd of the way through I was thinking that some of the quips are good, but that this isn't going to hold up to rewatches.
The one thing I did appreciate is that they didn't retcon Steve and Tony' friendship, or lack thereof. The Steve and Tony friendship is the backbone of the Avengers in the comics, but it just never happened in the films. They didn't force an arc or pretend they were closer. The dynamic fit with the MCU dynamic for them. I am not a fan of that dynamic, but a last minute retcon would have pissed me off to no end.
