I didn't actually get a ton of pictures out there. I am not sure why. I am might be overthinking my shots. Though, part of it is that there is a lot of tall dead grass creating visual noise. Hopefully, things will green up in a week or two.
One of the trails:

Purple Trillium:

Skunk Cabbage:

I took a lot of pics here, but none really work how I want.
Pretty picnic area:

Towards the end of the day I considered doing another trail in an adjacent wilderness area. Then I saw this:

Then I saw the trail:

If you are seeing a slippery worn spot on nearly vertical wet rock, yup, that is the trail! I did not do the trail.
I did take this shot for my No Trespassing Signs of Oregon gallery:

It's not as threatening as others, but the strands of dead looking moss adds a certain something. It might make the cut.
And of course I got those Red Wing Black Bird pictures I posted about before.
Maybe I will decide I have more 'keepers' among my shots when I do a second pass over them.

Date: 2019-05-03 12:50 pm (UTC)From:Gorgeous pics as always. I'm grateful for the skunk cabbage because last week some friends and I were at the Savil Gardens outside London. We were puzzling over whether plants were skunk cabbage. It's a gorgeous area but none of the plants are given their colloquial names!
There is livestock there,so the warning signs read:
Do not get between a mother and baby
If you are approached by a cow or pony, let your dog off the lead.

This is a variety of skunk cabbage native to the Pacific Northwest, Western Skunk Cabbage.
