New Year's Resolutions!
I typically don't do these. The whole resolution thing usually doesn't work for me. I've also read a lot of 'psychology says resolutions are counter productive' articles. But, I really need some specific goals for 2021 and to visualize things being better next year.
1) Be more consistent with photography. This year has been a mess photography wise, but for good reason. The only way to get anywhere with photography is to spend a massive amount of time on it.
2) My eternal hope for every year is to get somewhere with writing and that never happens. The amount of time I've spent getting nowhere is depressing, but I also can't give up on it.
3) Move to Denver OR have a very good reason to stay. I plan to move to Denver in June. It's possible in the months I have to delay due to the pandemic I'll actually wind up with a reason to stay here. I doubt it, but it's possible.
There are a lot of things I want to do in Oregon before I leave, and most of those things are not going to be possible. That's pretty frustrating.
4) Lose 30-50 pounds. That is a lot. When I originally set my weight goals I didn't do the math on how many pounds it actually was. My brain did the math yesterday and that is a lot.
I am already down some weight. I don't know what weight I got up to this year, I didn't weigh myself until I fit back into my pre-pandemic pants. I've lost 7 or 8 pounds since then. So, I appear to be moving in the right direction. I am currently using Noom. It's been helpful to start with and as long as it's helpful I'll keep it. The good thing about Noom is that it was very much reworked for 2020 reality. The bad thing about Noom is that is seems built for a target audience of women who want to lose ten pounds and reward themselves with stiletto heels. Like, the app talks about stilettos a few times.
30 pounds down will put me back where I was before some medical-related weight gain and that is also a weight I am happy with and can usually maintain easily. I'll be happy if I can get there, but getting to 50 down would be better in the long term if I can manage it.
5) Finally, after all these years, design and print the fabrics I want and make PJs out of them.
