Seattle

Seattle did not go as planned.

Since I was going to be walking for miles and also hopefully filling up my bag, I didn't bring my camera. So, of course, it was a stunningly clear and bright day with views of Hood, Helens and Rainier that I didn't even know were possible from the train. And our longest delay involved us on a bridge for over an hour with this view:

There was no haze IRL, that's just my cell phone sucking. What I could have done with my real camera... Ah well, you place your bets and you takes your chances. Also, worse things than that view.

And that was just one delay. I got to Seattle hours late. I didn't take the super early train, if I do this again I will. I only had 4 hours up there.

But, I did make it to Uniqlo and yeah, the cut and material of their clothes was a solid step up. I bought one shirt that wasn't exactly my style, but it just fit better than a normal T shirt and looked a level more polished. It's ideal for things like the trip I was on. I didn't buy any pants, but I know my sizing there now. If I need pants, I can just order them then. Picking items to order if needed, rather than buying them to have in case I need them, was part of the plan.

I tried a few more places, ate dinner than then walked back to the train station. I am a big defender of the Cascades train line and it usually being reliable these days. Most people's impressions are from before the track improvements, but we also had a massive delay home and we got in around 1 AM.

Overall, not a bad day. Got to stretch my legs on different PNW sidewalks, steep ones. But, by the time I got home I was done, way more than I should have been.
