I found the fandom mostly intolerable, and I can only imagine how much worse it was with a better understanding of Japanese! I did really love the anime, but people got very weird about it in very weird ways in some cases.

I hope so, too! It'd be nice if it reinvigorated the fandom for the books as a whole, and definitely if it means they get to wrap up the couple's story with a second season.
