Rough night for reshoots
Jan. 11th, 2021 01:02 amI went tonight to reshoot my favorite piece of street art. My current shot is not great. I shot it at like 3 AM, streetlights off, no store lights, etc. Portland hates lighting it's streets. Anyway, I didn't pixel peep and realize that my ISO sucked. I went out tonight carrying a tripod so I could ensure a perfect shot.
My previous shot:

The piece is gone. Someone took it and goddam it, it wasn't me. I'd never take someone's street art, but in this care I was tempted. No reshoot for me, it is no more.
I then went to do a very overdue reshoot of yard art. I am pretty sure I found the house again, but the art is no more. The yard had hands coming out of the dirt holding remote controls. A bit dated, but very Portlandy and the hands were perfectly sculpted. I cannot find my original shot. It must be somewhere, but I cannot find it or find where I might've hosted it for posting.
I walked 6 miles with my normal camera gear and a tripod. For what? My health? Okay, that is a good reason. Also a small furry void creature decided to love me aggressively for about 5 blocks. Portland streets can be dark, so dark I can't see my feet. A super fluffy black cat ran into me and demanded pettings. The cat then walked between my legs for five blocks with her tail around my right leg. Very sweet, but I had to sort of waddle to make sure I didn't accidentally step on fluffy toes.
I am going to look again for the hands, but I suspected they were gone. They were too good. If they were still around I'd see other shooting them a lot.
