I've finished Almost Paradise. I'm tempted to do a write up, but I'm not going to bother. I'm done. If they do a season 2 I hope they tighten things up a lot. I know the project is important to some of the producers, but it just did not come together.

In one episode they said The Philippines has over 7,000 islands. I thought it was a dumb exaggeration, but I am in the habit of googling before scoffing. Turns out ... The Philippines has over 7,000 islands. I really want to go and see some of it. Sadly, the show doesn't really show the setting all that well. I guess budget constraints? They only use a few locations. It's a shame.

For most of my life, my dream trip has been to go to Thailand. But the only times in my life I could have pulled off going to Thailand were bad times to go to Thailand, especially since what I want to see the most is in near a disputed border with Cambodia. The Philippines is *checks map* not actually all that close to Thailand. Someday I want to drift in a canoe in SE Asian sea caves. I doubt it will happen, but man I'd love to see some of those areas.
