Mar. 3rd, 2022 05:42 amSo, I've been very unproductive in the real world for the past few days because I've been caught up in the new Guild Wars 2 expansion and the hype. This particular content release is a huge deal, for reasons it would take too long to explain. I'll just say that the company brought back devs who worked on the original Guild Wars base game and also the maps are insane. Size, depth, textures, variety, all the NPCs and detail, it's nuts.
Though, actually, I haven't been very productive in game either. I decided to slow down with story and map completion and have been just messing around? I took my mains all through the first story steps to unlock Jade Bots for them. Jade Bots are cute, weird little things that you use to equip/manage bonuses for your character. Like, it can auto-recycle items for you or 'find' extra crafting materials like bone and leather on defeated enemies... we don't ask how.
Anyway, I have many, many months to make all the new skins, do achievements, explore maps and... *checks notes* help an (in-universe) RPF smut ficcer overcome writer's block and become a better writer. Personally, I thought The Passions of Faren was flawless and have no notes, but if Snargle Goldclaw thinks he can write even better human/dragon smut about the friends of the Commander, who am I to argue?
I could easily hyper focus on this for a a few weeks, but it's time to peel way back time spent gaming. Especially since... well a year ago we thought pandemic was winding down and masks were going away, now *this* March that's likely actually happening. Sort of, Covid isn't going away, but 'the new normal' is going away. I have tickets to a show next month and actually feel reasonably sure that it's going to happen and I'm going to go.
