One of my hotels in Alaska cancelled me AND rebooked the room to someone else. They are claiming my credit card couldn't be run. *looks at complete lack of alerts from bank*

Another hotel that didn't appear in searches yesterday popped up, and it might be a better option. It costs a bit more, but it has a shuttle so I don't need to hike in and out of the park. I just really hope no other place decides to cancel on me.

I've emailed a tour company about a day trip from Fairbanks to area north and east of there. Here's hoping they take a solo traveler. The tour goes to areas that I don't want to try to get to on my own.

Is Expedia any good? I've booked through there, and also looked through tripadvisor. I'm sorry booking is such trouble.

Thanks! Booking is such a balancing act. It's like, which thing do I nail down first? A lot of what I am booking isn't refundable so it feels like I am placing bets when I pick between booking transport or lodging first.
