So you'd think I'd be following the current Gamestop nonsense a bit more closely, but I've been busy. But, a few pieces of context:
* If that subreddit wasn't manipulated into it's market moves, all the moves will be manipulated from now on. Reddit is easy to manipulate. I used to do PR for events, I know how easy it can be. If someone was behind this, we'll know in about 2 years when some report drops.
* People who short stocks hire private investigators to follow people. All of my Dad's stock trades had articles written about them. If these people didn't realize reddit exists, it's on them.
* Hedge funds are about carefully managing risks. They didn't manage the risks properly. So, this happened. It is 110% on them. Rich people losing money because they bet on the wrong hedge funds is their problem.
* There is big, big money is driving the market. Redditors just massively incentivized people with large budgets and lots of staff to mess with reddit.
* Slight and subtle reddit manipulation has made people bank in the past. This isn't new.
* If I understand all this so well, why am I so damn bad at promoting my own website and projects?? I'll put all this knowledge to work for like cons and charities but my own stuff just sits there hoping someone'll trip over it.

Work versus hobbies, you know? The eternal problem.
