Last Friday, because I was carrying too much camera gear, I managed to hurt my heels a little bit. Also, I was trying to power walk a section because I am trying to get to a Light Festival exhibit before it closed. It was weird because walking, especially while carrying weight, usually makes my body feel better. So, I decided to stay off my feet for a bit, baby them, do stretches for heel problems, etc. Both of my parents had heel problems. They both kept ignoring the problem and wound up with stretches of time where they couldn't walk. Since I refuse to be like that, I am taking a very pro-active approach. I've bought little compression anklets, anti-inflammatory salve and everything.

Last night everything became ice, and now we have snow. I assume the snow is over the ice since it wouldn't have a chance to melt. I am usually not put off by bad weather, I am from the North East and my Mom would send me to to the store on foot in literal blizzards. But, I am staying in to be careful. Especially since the forecast says we should bounce between snow and freezing rain.

I am getting a bit of cabin fever.

I am really wanting to DO something. I would do some yoga, but one of the reasons I've been taking that slowly is that it's been putting strain on my feet that I am not used to. That's a good thing, I am strengthening balance muscles. But I need to be slow and careful about that. Hrm, maybe Adrienne has a sitting-only routine I can do.

I like Colin Hay's music, but I do not like this song. It keeps getting stuck in my head, because it's a mood these days:

You're definitely right to take it easy and not hurt yourself! But I'm sorry you're stuck inside while you do. At least it is lousy weather, so you aren't missing out on really nice days?

Staying is definitely the better choice. Icy weather is the worst.

Good luck with the cabin fever and the heel-healing, though.
