Every time I see someone talk about Jim Sterling I want to go 'It's Stephanie now' Someday, someday late at night when I am tired I am going to reply with that and people are going to be very confused.
For those who find this post confusing, the Leverage villain and a prominent video game critic / consumer advocate shared a name until very recently. The youtube personality is okay with being called James, prefers Stephanie, but does not want to be called their old first name. And they also like to model non-binery finery. Stephanie has been openly queer/poly for about a decade and has talked about games and fan reactions to games from that perspective.
For those of you who follow PhilosophyTube, Abigail once spent spent an episode talking about Stephanie's criticisms of game companies as a model for understanding criticisms of capitalism in general. And, I just realized, ... that video is a still-male-presenting Abigail dressing up as and pretending to be a still-male-presenting Stephanie.
