Still working on my urban tree series. Still trying to decide whether to call it The Tension Between Nature And The Urban Landscape or Trees With Big Butts





This is going to be a little less curated than my usual posts, because I am still picking which shots will be The Shot and might reshoot some of these... I may need a lens I didn't have on me for this walk. Anyway, the works in progress

"Trees with Big Butts" really does have a good ring to it.

I love all of them. I adore big deciduous trees.

The line of them all against the sidewalk has that storybook sort of vibe. Though I suppose all of them do to a degree.

And even if they are big butts... I love the fascinating shapes they make.

I love the fairytale stuff, but yes. There's definitely a particular vibe to seeing tree roots pushing sidewalk pavers out of the way, or engulfing signposts and such. I do love it.

Wow, they do have big butts. I've never seen trees grow like that.
