Or, really days 1-3. First day I hiked towards Mt Hood Village. Second day I was out on the boardwalk over the wetlands. Day 3 I went back out on the boardwalk and and also hiked a bit into the Salmon Huckleberry Wilderness.

I hope to go back and do more photography there. The rain way too heavy at times for pics, and because I was leaving on day 3, I was checked out of my room and once again had everything on me. I'd have stayed another day, but I wanted to be back in Portland for an event that wound up getting cancelled.

And I got to add to my collection of dodgy bridges I've crossed.

This was worse than I realized at first. It's hard to see, but on the left that's tree roots gone sideways. The ground around the base is eroding because the tree fell.

There were also birbs:

And wet walkways over wetlands:

Also, I am always fascinated by how cute the little day use areas are, and they are always empty when I am out. But, I guess I go early in the year.

I have lots more of the picnic table shots, but that's likely enough. I didn't get many trail shots I liked because I didn't want to angle my lens certain ways or it would have gotten wet. Not going to complain about spring rain in a wetland, enough. I'd like to shoot more out there, but in a bit. I am a bit over walking along Route 26 with a heavy pack right now. I've gotten some really good trail and walkway shots out there before and want to take a few more stabs at getting something that really pops.

I am extremely heart-eyes at how green everything is.

A dodgy bridge, indeed!

Lovely red-winged blackbird shots! Plus the robin. And the duck showing off the flashy bit of her wing! Great pics.

I love all the boardwalk shots. And the misty mountains! And the cute picnic tables!

That is a really interesting sort of environment to be in! I do usually associate wetland stuff with being a lower-elevation thing.

It's nice to visit places where the wildlife is fairly chill and doesn't bolt at the slightest movement.

That is nice - slightly lesser-known places are really nice for that exact reason. Much less of a known destination for people to go to (and mess up).

I hope you do get a chance to go there as well!
