Q Center advertised an event today called Pride Month Art Market today, and today is the day that most cities are doing their main pride. So I headed out. Didn't even think about it. Turned out it was a furry maker's mart that happened to be during pride month and hosted there. Because there is so much crossover between queer and furry here, I didn't notice at first that I was at a furry event. I was just like 'people seem more chill and hey, lots of original designs instead of kits and assets I recognize'. When I left one of the organizers was explaining to someone else who passed by that it was meant to be an event for the community. It was very a 'you can pop in buuuut' energy

Glad I decided to wear my werewolf shirt. I blended on accident. On one hand I am amused, on the other hand... Q Center maybe maybe have clearer comms?

If it was meant to be a community meetup, then yeah, that should have been better communicated!

But I'm glad you blended in, ha. Furry spaces do tend to seem like some of the most chill and creative.

(There were a few furries in full fursuits at Pride on Saturday. It was such a hot day, I don't know how they could do it!)

Those are very different event titles! Nothing about "Pride Month Art Market" would make me guess that it was a furry event. Way to screw up those promos!

I'm glad it wasn't a problem for you, because it sounds like it was a fun event! But... not ideal for the people who were hoping for something that it wasn't, and not great for the event holders if they had a lot of the wrong crowd showing up.

(The venn diagram of queer and furry has broad overlap, so hopefully no one was like, an asshole to the people hosting, but still.)
