I am thinking of dabbling in watercolors for Mermay. I sort of hate watercolors, but I want to work with them a little. There is a paradox in art supplies. Alcohol markers last forever and can take lots of abuse. But, art made with alcohol based markers is not lightfast. Watercolors can do off from drying out too much and paints can do off, but the art made from them often is light fast. Even if not 100% lightfast, it's pretty solid.

So, I hate water colors but I want to have some experience with an actually lightfast medium. Well, besides just inks. Watercolor seems to suit Mermay. I may end up regretting trying watercolors again but hey at least they are cheap compared to the other art supplies I use.
