Brain, this was your idea
Mar. 25th, 2020 01:31 pmMy brain decided to reject having an office chair and I converted my desk to a standing desk. I suddenly started moving stuff around midnight a few nights ago. I've been inside too much and have bad sitting habits. My desk does convert to standing but the mechanism isn't great. It takes a bit and it doesn't feel like tolerate being changed too often.
There are a few problems, though. I am stiff from sitting too much. While I can walk for hours, standing is also not great especially if your back is cranky. So I look like Stephen Fry in this clip while I am trying to do anything computery. While standing and, well, wiggling, my focus for writing and photo processing isn't the best. I am trying to adapt, though. I need to be moving. I feel way better since I starting standing, marching in place, staying in squat stances, etc at my computer.
Also, when I stop working and sit to watch something, my keyboard and mouse are out of reach. I just watch stuff and don't tab out to check news or twitter.
I feel much better, but I haven't really adapted to it yet.
