* So, the reason I was so beat yesterday was because my body was trying and failing to fight off being sick. Home Covid test is negative. I am hopeful I can shake whatever this is fast. I am hoping it's just hit me so hard because I was out walking steep roads in bad air. The air was clear when I left and I took it for granted it would stay that way after all the rain. But, when I got home and checked I saw that it had taken a dump. I'd had a feeling during part of my walk that I the air had turned to ick.
Last night after I did my initial post the congestion suddenly hit hard and it was like, oh... yeah, that's what's going on.
* The twitter deal is done and Musk got rid of a chunk of top staff. We'll see how this goes. I've seen some good arguments for why this will go terribly for him, and I hope they are right.
* Meta Facebook is down 700 Billion due to it's VR metaverse going badly. They remain committed. I saw a video a while back that gave an explanation for their baffling commitment to VR. Basically, FB is hemmed in by browser, app store and phone OS privacy features. They can't grow because rival companies modulate how they interact with the users, and also pushing back against FB is a popular move for people selling phones. The headsets allow a direction connection without having to go through Apple, Microsoft, Google, Firefox, etc. With a shrinking userbase and less ability to monetize each user every year, they have to make this work or they have no future. I am not sure if that is correct, but it certainly makes sense. (If anyone wants I can dig up the video.)
* I wish I should say a long overdue shake up in both social media and how fandom uses social media will come out of this, but it's sadly unlikely unless twitter has a really big implosion.
