I decided to do a very short little loop Friday night and call it good. I am glad I did because the sidewalks were in worse shape than I thought they'd be. I figured that foot/scooter/etc traffic would have worn away most of the crud, but I was wrong. On my way home the slush was becoming more structured, on it's way to becoming sheets of bumpy ice.

I have to say, this had a lot of impressive displays. There are dozens of meh ones I saw and didn't even shoot. I never made it over to the Williams business distract cluster or a few other spots. Still, one of the displays covered an entire city park, literally encapsulating the whole thing, in a shifting glowing rainbow prism

Okay, the park in question is Mill Ends, but it a city park! (Portland's famous teeny park. Portlanders basically pretended it was a real park until the city gave in)

At Glow Bar:

Okay, that is shinier than any d12 I own, but how would you even use it?

The Transmasc and Nonbinary Revue last night was actually a lot of fun! Very different vibe from the Booklover's events. It was way more chill. No lectures on praxis or having someone with a tip jar look me directly in the eyes 36 times over the course of a night. It was like the event was supposed to be fun? It was also 'masc of center' for all but one performance, which is them actually being as advertised? Instead of like pretty much every other event I've gone to?

I decided to not bring my camera. I couldn't use it during the show, but I was going to be near some PDX WLF displays and could have checked a few more places off of my list while I was out. But, I decided I'd have a better time if I didn't have one of my most expensive personal possessions strapped to my back. (the camera body is one thing, it's the lens, it's really about the lens.) This turned out to be a good call because when I say it was packed:

Not only were my knees against the stage, but my jacket being over the back of my chair created problems for the people behind me. The GA tickets were sold out by the time I found out about the event, so this is what was left.

There were a lot of great acts, people were very friendly and overall it was fun. They are about to have their one year anniversary as a quarterly event. That's a big deal because when I go to stuff like this it either turns out to not be masc focused, not even close, or it actually is and it's a flash in a pan and people are angry it was allowed to happen at all. But, rather than going on a ramble reaching back to when I first moved here I'll just say that I hope they actually continue and I want to support them.

I do like the venue, Black Water is a vegan punk bar that I've been to before, but I hope they can go somewhere else. We were packed in so tight.
