I will do my usual Day 1, Day 2 type travel logs, but here is the general overview:

You know that Polar Vortex making it all cold and snowy for most of the US? Yeah, it's left the Deschutes a mess of melting ice. I made the best of it, but if I had it to do over I'd ditch and do more Crater Lake / Klamath Falls.

The good:
* I manage one decent hike and one snowshoe trek
* I've increased me area knowledge of Central Oregon and that will be useful on future trips
* I did get some decent pics, if not anything like that I'd hoped
* I did get some writing done. I should be able to hand in two article first drafts in the next day or so.

The bad:
* Even though 'nesting' in the 'cozy lodge' is listed as an activity to do at Odell Lake, the on-site people gave no fucks and blasted sportsball from the lounge loud enough to follow it while in the next room at the front desk. It's a Forest Service run site and idk how they got those jobs, but all they do is watch sportsball, vape and give no fucks. Must be nice, but it sucks if you are staying there. I couldn't even buy a beer in the evening because I couldn't even get their attention.

And now to work on my pictures. In a genius move, I formatted my SD cards before I left so now all my filenames are the same. So I've got a bit of a mess to clean up.

Glad the trip seemed to overall be a success, despite the wet mess of the trails and the Sportsball. Looking forward to the pictures!
