We are getting a storm of between 1 and 18 inches of snow sometimes between two days ago an three days from now. Some of the models actually show more than 20 inches of snow, but a local meteorologist actually blogged about how reporting those numbers would be alarmist clickbait.

Meanwhile, I am seeing lots of pictures of sold out grocery stores and I assume those pictures are showing the worst, but it looks like my nearest Fred Meyer is full of empty shelves. I am glad I already did a big food run, but I kind of wish I'd gotten even more. If the snow doesn't hit tonight I will top up. Shelves are empty, but the backrooms aren't. Portland isn't running out of food, it's just a logistics thing. People here don't have a habit of maintaining emergency supplies ... and even I've gotten sloppy about it. I have some, though.

I should made a bunch of tea in case the power goes out. I don't want to be an uncaffeinated zombie.

We have no snow whatsoever over here, though I guess some of the roads are a bit slick? I need to run out for peanut butter today. Yesterday the traffic was nuts and yeah, stores were sold out of a ton of stuff--even the little bundles of firewood that I keep on hand in case the power goes out.

Yeah, the snow was a non-event in my area, too. I could run out for a few things, but I don't know if I will. I might wait until stores have had more of a chance to recover. Since I have allergies, I need specific brands. If my bread is out, I can't just grab another.

It seems like every week or so this year there's a run on the grocery stores, at least in my area. We had two weekends in a row with heavy snow...run on the grocery stores. Then we had the polar vortex...run on the grocery stores. Now this weekend we have heavy snowfall again, and when I went to the store on Saturday for my usual shopping, a lot of the shelves were empty. It's just, how many times can people panic shop? Have they already gone through the entire hoard from the panic shop they went on six days ago?

There is nothing that makes me hungrier than realizing I can't get more food. I've actually been stuck without safe food a few times and it's stressful. I may have spoken too soon about supplies not actually running low. I just placed a grocery order and Amazon was out of most things and ending deliveries early. Also, the restaurants I can order from are all closed.
