I've finished my first watercolor. It's on super textured paper so the scan and a photo of it look very different.

I tried to indicate more of a fur texture, but on that paper it was hard to get the paint to go where I wanted.
I did the line art for my next piece on some multimedia paper which is smoother, but not watercolor paper. We'll see how that goes:

Great Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus
I might redo it so it's lineless like the Jackalope. I want to have a series of cryptids. But, I should get stuff done rather than overthinking the cohesion of a finished series. I need practice and to figure out what I should do for paper.

ETA: I love the jack! Your colors are great! And your drawing of the tree octopus is great, as well. I am unable to use my hands in any artistic visual medium. My handwriting atrocious, my stick figures are - well, not good. So I envy the talent, but I try to make it a kind and well-wishing envy.
