Today was my long day trip to do some photography out at some wetlands around the base of Mt Hood. They were at about 1,300 elevation so it wasn't really spring up there yet. I should go back in a few weeks.

I haven't been driving because I had a bad migraine for about two months and was still vaguely migrainey for a while after. It's mostly gone, but light is a big migraine trigger for me and when you are driving you can't just close your eyes if light is bright. I intend to start driving again in the middle of next month, but umm... yeah for right now I am just really, really trying to make sure that *(&*&^&*ing migraine stays gone. So, I took buses out.

I got up. I got a giant mocha. I took a Portland bus to Gresham. I then took a Gresham bus to Sandy. I then took a Sandy bus out to near the site and just walked US route 26 a bit. I walked some miles at the site. Somewhere between 5 and 7. At that point I was pretty beat so I headed home. I took the second to last bus out of the area, then the Sandy bus to Gresham and then the Portland bus to the block I live on.

3 buses sounds risky and miserable, but it really wasn't. The smaller shuttle service I was using to get into the woods was pretty nice. It was a looong day. I was out of the hour 12 hours. I'd planned to be out 14, but I left a bit early. Even when I am driving again I might bus out to that area. I love driving, but after a long hike it's nice to just sit. And I was dropped practically at my door.

I will finish processing all my pictures tomorrow. I don't focus on or go for wildlife photography but I got pictures of a red wing black bird and am feeling pretty impressed with myself:
