The wardrobe from Supernatural is being sold off over the new few days. I guess the final episode if wrapped. I remember SPN being being obsessive over certain items of clothing, like a red plaid shirt. Next year someone could be wearing Castiel's actual trenchcoat at a con. Weird thought.

There's no way there was only one trenchcoat for the whole series. And if there was, I hope Misha Collins gets to keep it.

They usually try to dress characters in the exact same clothes. With Castiel's hastily chosen clothes there were some problems. I don't know if was the same, but I know they tried.

Didn't the original trench coat get lost, and that's why they had to change it for season 8? I know Dean's original leather jacket was lost.

My understanding is that the leather jacket was stolen by an overinvested fan.

I know they try to keep clothes consistent, but with Castiel they had some problems because he was supposed to be a one-off character and didn't have dupes of his clothes. Like the collared shirt they put him in originally was three sizes too big. I don't know if the original was lost, I haven't been keeping up for a while.

The show's clothes need their own fanlore page if one doesn't exist already.
