I am finally in physical therapy. I likely should have been a year or two ago. Hopefully, I can finally get out of expensive massages to keep my dex score from falling to zero. Daily PT exercises are boring and annoying, but it's clearly what I need to be doing. The current estimate is that I can switch to personal training in about 6 weeks.
I had my first ever pedicure the other day because I put my feet through a lot. It did more for my ankle mobility problems than ... anything. I have more range of motion in parts of my ankle and foot than I've had in years. Fuck, why wasn't I doing this sooner? I guess part of it was feeling awkward in a nail parlor. My local one focuses on nail art so I am a boring client. It's a nice place, though. I like Fingerbang. (yes, that's what it's called)
And yeah, I've been doing hikes with up to 1,600 feet of elevation change with limited mobility in some of my joints. It's better than not hiking?
And speaking of walking a lot, I have a Portland Road Atlas to track my 'walk all of every road' project. I am doing sort of a soft reboot on the project since I haven't been tracking it well, and sometimes when I walk I get caught up in my own head. A few sections I am going to go ahead and mark off, but mostly I am re-starting.
I like having the maps in atlas form. It makes it easy to mark and annotate. I can also put location info in the metadata of my photos without putting the address. It's basically a book code and that amuses me.

Date: 2019-07-30 11:17 pm (UTC)From:I also really like physical maps a lot... I appreciate the convenience of GPS navigation, but I love the ability to keep my own notes about a place on my map of it. (Including silly "this is where that cool looking horse hangs out", or "where I found that really neat rock" notes that remind me of more about a place than just an address and a route ever can.)

Date: 2019-07-30 11:36 pm (UTC)From:I can do the annotations I want in this atlas, but not in any other digital or physical map I can find. So, I am super happy an up to date atlas exists!
Also, I live in Oregon and 'don't trust apps for maps' is important for getting around here. There was a update in 2016 and the big 3 map apps all got worse. Whatever snarfed their map data still isn't fixed.
