I am trying to pull together a Christmas in Portland gallery for my website by the 16th or by the 20th at the latest. It's been a mess. Each of my planned shoots has gone sideways. Tonight I went to Kenton to take a picture of the Paul Bunyan statue with his holiday wreath, but they didn't have the lights on the wreath.

But at least it was near a soy and dairy free restaurant. I had lasagna with lots of pork sausage and cheese made from cashew cream:

Due to various reasons, I haven't been able to new pictures of the Santa Clones with my good camera or the giant martini. There is a 'Merry Impeach-mas' display somewhere in Portland and I Want It for my gallery. I only have the street number, but not the street. The person who posted a pic to reddit got harassed into deleting it before I could ask where it was. I did walk a mile or two of where the house might be tonight, but no luck so far. I am going to walk at least a few more miles. I don't know if I will find it, but I plan to walk enough to burn off the giant lasagna.

This whole week I've made no progress. This has been nuts.

I usually don't shoot this way. I usually explore, walk, hike or snowshoe and look for shots along the way. Doing specific shots planned in advance isn't usually my thing and I am increasingly glad it's not. I usually walk around and spot things like:

art, rain, moss and bicycle all in one shot. That is a lot of Portland packed in there. Not one of my top shots, but one I got walking this week not actively looking for anything.

I am not going to list all the dumb complications I've dealt with this week, like a Lyft ride taking an hour instead of ten minutes, but I will share this: I couldn't get my transit tracker to read the stop ID coming home tonight. The camera wouldn't focus. I was so intent on trying to get it to focus on the right bit but that I didn't see what my phone was dead set on focusing on, there was a giant spider on the post and my phone's smart sensor was sure that I was after the giant spider, not the QR code. I took a picture, but I'll spare you. Stupid phone. Giant spider.
