Freelensing is photography where your lens is not actually attached to the camera. You can make a very limited DOF macro lens by flipping a wide angle lens around. In theory.

I am trying this right now. So far, nothing is close to working. Some of my compacts primes can't focus without a power connection. So I can't, uh, focus. So I am trying to do shoots with my camera's sensor just hanging out in the open, vulnerable to dust.

I hate the very idea of freelensing. But today I will be watching some tutorials and then trying again.

This sounds interesting, but beyond my own skills! I am however dreaming of a new camera with a marco lens, a dream which will not come true anytime soon.
