* The ads I am getting on FB are polls asking me how I feel about Idaho's westward expansion. Like it's a done deal and they are just asking me what my opinion is. Seriously Idaho needs to calm down. They can't become a coastal state just because they voted to. Like ... Oregon exists deal with it. Also we're mostly federal land so it's not like you'd gain resources. I mean, yeah, it's an attempt to gerrymander on a larger scale I get it ...
* I hate getting into franchises late, but I am finally watching The Fast and Furious movies. The naming conventions ... or lack thereof ... for this series is a pain. This is very much a case of 'people did a very bad job of explaining this canon' to me. I feel like a lot of things I got into late was because people didn't really want to say why it appealed to them.
I really don't like street racing so it's a bit hard for me to get into, but I am going to watch it for a bit. I think I will get sucked in.
* I am trying to actually use Scrivener to be more organized. IDK ... I think I just do not vibe with anything where I can't opening it up and look at all projects in progress and pick one. I've been weirdly resistant to any writing program for ... for very dated reasons.

Date: 2021-04-18 09:08 pm (UTC)From:I am trying ... trying to not be salty that they are going for 'State of Washington' instead of 'State of Columbia'. We already have a state called Washington, y'all, and it already causes enough confusion. But DC statehood is too important for me to be bitching about the stupid name.

Date: 2021-04-19 02:09 am (UTC)From:I've heard a lot of good things about Scrivener, but don't know much about it. I think my younger sibling liked it, when they tried it a couple years ago. It's one of the things my current laptop can't run, but if I get a more modern/functional machine, I plan to try. If you have any thoughts on it after you work with it for a bit, I hope you share them!

Date: 2021-04-19 02:35 am (UTC)From:A lot of people use Scrivener but it doesn't always work right on windows. I am trying to see if I can find a work flow with it, because I don't really have a workflow or way to organize stuff.

Date: 2021-04-20 01:55 am (UTC)From:I have heard Scrivener works best on Mac, but after this laptop kicks it idk if I'll be able to afford another Mac (even though that's what I'm most familiar with and enjoy using, I also know it's a LOT of upcharge for aesthetic and brand name.)

Date: 2021-04-19 08:18 am (UTC)From:I wrote a post on how I use Scrivener in case you're interested. I tend to stack my fic in different fandom and/or series files but I know people who have one Scrivener file and divide their work inside that file into WIP folder and finished folder. I don't use all functions, I don't even bother to learn them because the basics are enough for me.

Date: 2021-04-20 08:59 am (UTC)From:Writing (and everything connected to it) is such a weird thing. I have loads of fandom friends who work only on GDocs which I avoid unless it's for beta-reading purposes. Scrivener appeals to me because I can move things around so easily AND it autosaves. And I can dump all my links and pics on the research section for safekeeping. But yes, it doesn't work for everyone and many people think it's overly complicated.
