Rain!

We had some rain! I was out in it! But at some point I hid my camera adapter from myself and now I can't find it. I hid it but good. I have a vague memory of noticing it was on my chair as I was heading for bed and putting it someplace 'I'd easily see it' so I could put it in it's place the next day. I cannot find the adapter at all. I'll just have to use my method of just cleaning my space until I find it. That way my looking time is more productive.

Darnnit. The local photography group rejected my last several posts and one of these shots would easily get approved. My posts are always within the rules, but at least one of the mods is very 'good vibes only!' and rejects everything that is in the slightest bit creepy, sad or political. And, well, *gestures to all my galleries* When my creepy posts are approved they are super popular, but it's a crapshoot whether they get through. I wanted to process one picture tonight, submit it and wake up to some feedback in the morning. But, I need to give up for the night because it is someplace nuts.

I am doing a very poor job of giving up on finding the dumb piece of plastic for the night.

Ugh, I HATE when I misplace stuff, especially when I know I saw it and had my hands on it...

That's frustrating about the photography group. I feel like a lot of people like creepy and spooky stuff, ESPECIALLY as we're about to hit October. Denying that stuff is really ridiculous, especially for a local group.

It's a group specially for local weird stuff, too. One of the mods is just ... she should be a modding a Life, Laugh, Love group or something. It's for 'odd and unusual ... happen-upons' in Portland. She'll approve municipal art or 'neighbor put in fancy new stone steps to their house' and reject my stuff.

Before that embroidery I hadn't had a post approved in weeks.

Wh... why would you mod a group for local weird stuff and not want "spooky" things as part of that? Political stuff I can maybe get, just from a "have to mod the comments" perspective, but... "dark" stuff??? In my experience the venn diagram of people interested enough in local weird art to join a group devoted to it and people who like spooky strange dark stuff is a near-circle. She is the outlier, lol. (I'm sure there are other people who want "quirky" but not "scary", but I feel like that's a much smaller segment than those who would be interested, ugh.)

She does sound like she should be modding a ~good vibes only~ group instead.

The group is a very old, established one, but the original mod retired about 2 years ago. One of the new mods, yeah, she is definitely an outlier. I am very careful about what I post now because I worry about getting too many rejections. It doesn't bother me, but it's Facebook so I need to be careful about my account engagement score. My original account became completely invisible, even to searches.

Also, this is Portland! I find skeletons without trying and struggle to find cute things like fairy houses.

Bummer on the original mod retiring. :/ I'm glad new people took over so it wasn't totally shuttered, but frustrating when a new mod seems to change the tone of the group. (Which, imo, is bad modding. It should be about the rules/tone/quality/membership/etc. of the group, not personal preference.)

The way socmed engagement scores work is suuuuch trash.

Right? Skeletons seem like the local fashion!

That sounds like a weird mod for a PDX photography group, but okay. Good luck getting your stuff posted.

Yeah, the mod team changed/expanded about two years ago and one of the mods just isn't a good fit. Until the embroidery I hadn't gotten anything approved in weeks!
