The gay uncle lived! I was so worried they'd kill him. The show is not shy about killing side characters. I was even more worried that they'd give him his memories back and he'd become such a different person that he wasn't the man his fiancee knew anymore. But, he seems to have taken the memory restoration well. The future hubby is still in Japan, tho, so that isn't fully resolved. But at least he still seems like himself to people who know him.

This show has it's flaws. They nerfed a villain to manageable size by making him in love with the main protag. In both seasons if the Locke kids all just sat down together, pooled and keys, and thought strategically they could have avoided a lot of problems. The Anywhere Key could be used to take people or keys out of play. Like Duncan, just stick him somewhere.

I typically hate kids-with-powers and YA in general. I think the writers really gets why kids dealing with epic good versus evil or other serious business struggles vibes so well. It's that a lot of things kids deal with are serious business and are going to impact them for decades. Bode has a particularly strong understanding of magic because of how young he is, and Tyler chooses to forget how hard it all was.

I'm not explaining why the metaphor very well. Like it makes sense in my head, but words hard.

Anyway, show good if you ignore the characters being stupid sometimes and the hand of the writer showing a bit too much. Hopefully Duncan survives season 3 and continues to be awesome. I really liked how the Mom was effected by all this... tho they should have used the Memory Key on her muuuuch sooner.
