I just deleted over 20,000 images from my external drive. I had a lot of duplicate folders, but I can't delete anything without being sure. I am doing a deep dive on organizing my photos. But I think that is enough for today! My brain is done. Deleting 12k files with a single mouse click is too much stress.

It's so annoying to deal with. One misclick and oops, I deleted the wrong thing! ...now what was it I deleted?

Full organization is not possible. But, I've made good headway to things being to the level of organization I want. Not having so many duplicate folders to also check will help a lot. Later tonight I'll mirror the drive.

I have one more copy of a computer backup to sort and I will have only one alaska folder, one abandoned places folder, etc on my main external, instead of a few dozen abandoned places folders made at different times on different computers from different backups.

Deleting files is really stressful! (I may have several mirrors of my computer files in several duplicate backups...)
It sounds like you've done a lot; time to rest!

I have folders of semi-organized photos, backups, unsorted backups, MORE backups, etc. just floating around two or three drives and I dread finally going through and sorting them. Are you using any particular photo application? I'm technically using Photos (the Mac app) but I hate how it hides the folder structure.

Nope, I am just going into the file directories directly. It's a pain, but it's going to save future!me so much time.

Oh jeez, that's a lot! I HATE hunting for duplicate stuff to delete... and that fear of "oh no, not that folder! shit!".

Congratulations though, because that's a lot done and consolidated!
