And it makes stunningly clear the exact points I've pointed out about Rackstraw. For a while the group was lying and saying Rackstraw contacted them and were doing a LOT of lying by omission.
Oh, they are clearly showing that they reached out and ambushed Rackstraw. That's the thing the group's been trying to liiieee about that I called them out on a few times. I still hate the Rackstraw theory, but I can't complain.
Basically, at a point the details about Riggs being the one to reach out and also refuse to deny being DB got copy-pasted onto Rackstraw when they were doing book promotion on reddit and some other places. The exact thing I was calling their PR people out on is clearly shown in this doc.
Some of the footage, I know immediately where it was shot. I recognize people at the talks/presentations. I paused the video several times to see if I was in the shot at times. That D B Cooper shirt being sold at some of those talks? I have that shirt... or had. It may have disintegrated. I've tried a few times to replace it but the only D B Cooper designs I could find kinda sucked.
"Why are you hiding in a storage bin" <- when they've brought hired muscle and some guy with a gun who was all 'yeah, I shouldn't need more than 3 clips if I need to take him out'
"Just imagine the visuals of this" <- This! Yes. Those fuckers. Creatively edit the whole thing and the optics are bad for Rackstraw. He's got people with google glass glasses trying to talk to him, people with guns... of course the man hid.
"He was crazy evasive" <- No, he was not. You've been claiming that for years. It's not true.
Saying he enjoyed people thinking he was DB Cooper. Oh, yeah, harass the man and hire armed guards and creeper film him and then be all it's okay, he enjoys it! Slimeballs!
A few notes:
* To me the key to the case is that no missing persons report is a possible match. That gives the Canadian theory more bite
* However, that Dan Cooper comic book was Belgian and had very small distribution. There is a reason why after decades of being being obsessive about this, even in the internet age, the possible connection wasn't made until recently. It sounds compelling, but it's one of those things where the more you look into it the less of a lead it seems.
* I didn't know there was a Cooper Con last year! I'd have gone and also restocked on t shirts. (Or did I know and the timing was just 'nope' due to pandemic? I actually have a vague recollection of it.)
* In the past 3 years there have been a few highly publicized 'D B Cooper revealed' press events of new suspects, including one I watched live. The one I watched was the dumbest pile of bull I'd ever seen. However, another about it being a specific air traffic controller fits more than any other theory I've heard and I am surprised it was left out. I am bad with names and haven't been keeping track of Cooper stuff since 2016, but there is a theory about it being a specific air traffic controller that basically made me go 'oh, that's likely and... disappointing.'
