The Paranormal Couple have been interviewed by Project Fear to clear their names and... they couple contradicted themselves and were called out on a very specific, concrete lie. If you want to see more of them being torn down as frauds, you can watch the whole John Wolf video. But, if you just want to see John cover the very hinged response from The Conjuring House owners, here is the John Wolf video starting from that point.

My favorite bit... (bolding mine)
To the Disbelievers and Debunkers: You have passed your opinions and personal narratives off as facts, this includes Mythos Paranormal and Bad 2 the Bone Paranormal among others. There have been threats made, cyberbullying captured, and proof of your lies collected by many who have witnessed your actions. You are prudent to take note that your slanderous claims and defaming lies are illegal. Mostly, I am addressing you to tell you that TCH does not care about you. You are not our market, and you represent less than 10% of people that have engaged with us.

To the Paranormal Enthusiasts and Paranormal Curious: ... Do not ever allow anyone to get you to doubt or disbelieve the spiritual or paranormal experiences that have impacted your lives and/or belief systems. Only you know the experiences that you have had. You are entitled to your belief systems, so own and embrace them.

There's a lot to unpack there dot gif

In case anyone wants to know what The Conjuring House is...
A number of high profile horror films are based on the paranormal investigations of Lorraine and Ed Warren: Annabel, The Nun, The Conjuring House, etc.

The house in The Conjuring House film is not the real location. The actual location of the 'real events' was bought by an investment company who have been renting out to content creators. Two employees are known as The Paranormal Couple do a method to 'talk to ghosts' that is exactly what The Fox Sisters used to do. The couple have a Patreon, give talks, and used to be involved in TAPS, a ghost hunting group that had a TV show in the '00s.

After Sam and Colby did a 3 part series on their experience there, a lot of people have called out The Paranormal Couple as *gasp* obvious frauds.

Project Fear is another ghost hunting group that made content at the house. They did the interview with Cody and Satori to let them 'explain themselves' Anyway, The Conjuring House has be The Drama recently in the paranormal world, with skeptics and believers both criticizing the couple and the house's owners.

Added to my watch later!

But WHAT? They're FRAUDS? Say it ain't so!

Though hoo boy, that statement (your bolded part especially) really is quite a bit to unpack, isn't it?

Like, man. That statement really is just... so much. So many layers. I mean, at least it's honest, even if it's maybe a bit *too* honest about the fact that they're only courting a gullible, unquestioning market.

It really would be nice to see it collapse. I know we talked before about how the whole "paranormal tourism" thing *can* be beneficial, particularly if it helps to maintain a site that could otherwise wind up demolished or simply neglected into ruin. But this shit? Yeah, fuck 'em and their whole business venture.

Right? Belief in the paranormal is basically just like religion, and as such it's a matter of faith and unquestioning belief and anyone who professes to be skeptical of any aspect of it is just trying to hurt you.
A healthy attitude to have!
(Specifically calling out anyone interested in debunking things feels particularly yikes. Being interested in debunking things, in ruling out the potential mundane explanations for some event is a necessity for anyone interested in any genuine investigation! Outright saying that debunking is "passing off opinion as fact" as compared to believers simply "being entitled to their beliefs" is really... rich in a lot of ways.)

Zack Bagins has always seemed super full of shit, and it seems like an awful lot of people who've had experiences with him do not have particularly positive things to say about him. We jokingly called him "Douche Bagins" at one point when we first watched Ghost Adventures, which somehow morphed into "Douche Bagels" and that's literally just become his name in my head.

That's definitely been a thing that I've noticed and been uncomfortable with in some paranormal investigation things: the default assumption that Christianity is The Truth, and that the existence of any paranormal anything is just further proof of that. (Which, tbh, is basically how I feel about the Warrens, and I think a lot of the people who want to emulate them and treat their work as (no pun intended) gospel wind up bringing that attitude to the forefront, too.)
And yeah, that feels like a real problem with a lot of Christians in general, that welp, if your eternal reward is in heaven, then nothing here and now matters! Why care about the earth's future when you believe that you and all the other people like you will be whisked away to heaven? Might as well just worry about getting yours in the short term, because the earth is temporary! (#notallchristians and all, but enough that it's frustrating to watch it impact the world!)

Of COURSE he put out an album. Holy fuck. Like any good club-going goth kid, I like me some Lords of Acid, but what the fuck.
But we need to listen to his music because ~the spirits want to be heard~ lmao. Fucking wow.

Yeah, even a lot of groups that aren't overtly Christian (who may not be doing "the power of christ compels you" or leading their investigations with prayer) still fall into the "culturally Christian" mindset, and really wind up perpetuating it. Focuses on "demonic" entities, or the idea of "going toward the light (by which we mean heaven)" or just in general the idea that any phenomenon must fit into a good vs. evil dichotomy.

And that is likely a comforting thing for a lot of people. It's permission not to have to care or worry about things that are big and scary. Global warming? Human rights? Exploitation? Why worry! Sure, people may be suffering and dying, but they'll "go to a better place." The idea that "true enlightenment" is just... not caring about anything is a very frustrating one. People seem to think that's very "zen", but it really does just feel like condescendingly rebranded selfishness.

You're exactly right: it sounds smug and self-congratulatory, and it feels very, very gross.

Lmao, like, that really does sound like a horror hook. I'd absolutely watch that horror movie if it popped up while I was scrolling Netflix.

But lmao, that is the perfect description... A police procedural's portrayal of the music at a ~spooky goth club~. The Forensic Files reenactment of the poor teenage victim's descent into the wicked counterculture. Bless. Someone has to make that music, right?
