I somehow made it to Trans Books Club.

First hurdle, the mailing list had the wrong date. But, I was pretty sure it was Sundays and double checked.

Second hurdle, the bus was early. I saw the fucker coming when walking to the stop and booked it. I had to splash through puddles made by very uneven sidewalks instead of avoid them, but I made it!

Third hurdle, the organizer didn't arrange space at the bar or even check the calendar to see if there was a concert there that night!

I stayed there for about 45 minutes listening to singer-songwriters, checking email and insta in case there was an update about the location. Then, a bus home was coming soon, so I headed out. I was back at the bus stop when I finally got a location update. So, I walked to the other bar and finally found them.

The actual club was good once I got there. We had a good discussion and a few people told me they were really glad I managed to find them. Possibly some others missed the group due to all the confusion. The person who runs the group was there this time, they never showed last month and we'd just ran the group and picked the next on our own. Also, apparently last month I sold people on my suggestion of Dead Collections so much that they bought the book and want it for next month! So, one of many books I need to read for my books clubs is one I've already read!

I am glad it went well, especially since I went in with frazzled energy. Between everything above, but also having had a super busy few days of Light Festivaling and going out the previous night I was kinda annoyed that I'd headed out rather than staying in and watching The Gorge.

Very glad it went well... eventually! A shame about all the confusion with the date and location and everything, but hopefully that gets ironed out. (And glad the person who organizes it was there this time... did they say why they weren't there last time?)

If they said, it was before I got there. I am trying to help them find a new permanent location and also sent them a discord link for Parallel Worlds, with organizes 3 book clubs so they can chat with other club organizers.

Hopefully that will help! It sounds like it's very well-intentioned, but maybe just going through some initial pains with getting set up. (Like finding a location, ha.) I'm glad you were able to point them toward the discord as a resource, and hopefully the help in finding a location will make things go more smoothly!
