Mar. 21st, 2020 01:01 pmI am dragging myself back into Guild Wars 2. It's weird because I used to be a very veteran player and now I am doing dumb stuff like typing in the wrong chat. I partially blame this terrible keyboard for how badly I am doing, but I am not actually interested in getting back into raiding or dungeons with 100 additional levels of difficulty. I just want to do the new metas, complete the new maps and do living world achievements.
It's keeping me away from social media stupidity and wanting to explain why re-purposing hotel staff to care for the sick isn't the brilliant game changing idea redditors think it is.
So instead I am thinking about how the biggest market blunders by players in the game are all rooted in them failing to understand that the game's economy isn't American style capitalism. It's got a highly regulated market, very generous UBI and the big money is always in the bear markets.
The company's offices closed back on March 6th and went fully work from home which was pretty forward thinking of them. I officially forgive ANet of at least 5 of the things they've done to piss me off over the years.
