Oregon Fires

Sky went dark early from all the smoke. It feels way later than it is. For the first time, PGE has cut power to areas to reduce fire risk. We are having a historic level of dryness and things could get far worse this week. Basically one person could spark far worse loss of forest. There have been a few evacuations, but not many.

Smoke is now a season here and I'd planned to be out of town for it this year! But, yeah, that didn't happen.

I am not even looking at the fire maps. I can't deal with what trails and public lands are on fire right now.

Bel Air

The serious drama reboot of Fresh Prince of Bel Air is happening.

Fake trailer is no longer fake, it's happening. I am excited about this for a few reasons. One is that is works, even using a lot of the same dialogue. It was a sitcom, but grounded in real things. Also, Will Smith has talked about how Fresh Prince weirdly mirrored his life at the time, with him being whisked off to luxury while the people he knew were still dealing with street life.

Reboots, they usually suck but I am excited for this one.

Oregon Fires pt2

Smoke wasn't as bad in Portland today. But we'll be minus several towns and maybe a city by the end of this. Fire is going directly through Medford Image. Also, a lot of forest land and wilderness areas.
