Smoke wasn't as bad in Portland today. But we'll be minus several towns and maybe a city by the end of this. Fire is going directly through Medford Image. Also, a lot of forest land and wilderness areas.

Date: 2020-09-09 06:30 pm (UTC)From:When I moved away from California, one of the things on my decision-making list was "Fire Season = Scary". Even when none of the fires were near me, there's that constant sense of, "Yeah, but one spark and ::foomph::" (and a few got uncomfortably close though luckily I never had to evacuate)
I guess it's basically a matter of picking which natural disaster you are willing to risk. Everywhere has something. Do you want to risk hurricanes or blizzards or floods or...? I've picked blizzards and tornadoes for now.
Good luck!
