Random Notes
Jan. 6th, 2022 02:20 pm* My Three For The Memories post is up.
* The CW is possibly being sold off. It "has never been profitable since its formation in 2006" ?? Wow. I am surprised it lasted so long. Maybe taking the same approach with almost every show wasn't the best idea? CW shows are very, very CWy. I do like their dark and paranormal Nancy Drew show, but if I actually watched more CW stuff I probably would be sick of the CW treatment and would pass on Nancy Drew. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
I'd make a joke about the possibility of Dean becoming a Disney princess, but let's be real, he's always been one.
* Team Seas did reach their 30 million goal, so that will mean 30 million pounds of trash out of the ocean. Since oceans are a huge carbon sink, a lot more than we used to think, there are a lot of good knock-on effects to this. It don't fix everything, but it's a nice bite into a problem. It also shows that doing shit works if it has the funding.
Team Seas is by the same people who did Team Trees last year, and have currently planted 9 million of the 23 million trees from that project.
* I wanted Portland to have rain this fall/winter and wow, is it. We've gone from flooding due to snowmelt right into an atmospheric river situation again. Yup, this is definitely wet.
