Mar. 15th, 2022 08:19 pm* I woke up with my throat feeling like death. It's easing as the day goes on. I've got the thing where eating and drinking is clearing out the gunk and easing my throat. As long as I keep nomming bread I feel okay. Covid test is negative. Hopefully, this clears fast. If not I'll retest.
* Murderboat has been rescheduled! This is one of many events I had tickets to that got cancelled. I didn't refund, and it looks like it's back on (again). This Murderboat event is "Everyone's Belated Birthday Do-over". It's everyone's missed birthdays from Covid all at once. It was supposed to happen last year, but now it's going to happen in June. The last Murderboat event I went to was this one.
Cool event, but it sucks to always go solo. There are some other upcoming things I am eyeing but it's like... what is it worth doing alone? Going solo to events can be rough. I've been to events where I've paid for a seat and can't get a seat, or have had people try to pressure me to give up mine or... other shit. Pre-covid I had thick enough skin to manage, but now I ... honestly I am worried about the upcoming STD show. The 'seats' are mostly at tables with a few bar seats. It's at a tiny McMenamins (brewpub in a converted building for any non-Portlanders). I have paid for a seat at a McMenamins venue before and wound up going home because people were just like 'no you can't sit with us'. I hadn't looked at the layout when I bought the STD ticket. Maybe I shouldn't try to go.
