Sep. 6th, 2022 05:44 pmDudebro Twitch Users: Hey, someone who was naughty on stream got a one week ban when us hate hosters get a longer ban! It's clearly Misandry on the part of Twitch. We need clarity and consistent enforcement!
Twitch: Okay. *removes the hosting functionality from twitch*
Dudebro Twitch Users: No not like that!
Sorry, that amuses me but is likely gobbedlygook to most of you. A female twitch streamer got a bit of discreet stimulation under her desk and people figured it out from a window reflection. She got a one week ban. (Some people are claiming the incident was more than that, but I have yet to find a reliable source.)
People who do other infractions, including hate-hosting are upset they get longer bans and think she has 'hot girl' privilege. Hate-hosting is when... you know how streamers often are playing a game with chat talking about it and the host commentating? Imagine instead of a game, they are watching another person's stream to make fun of them as a person. Guess how often that person is LGBTQIA+?
Twitch used to have a huge hate-raid problem. The most effective thing they did about it was allowing streamers to choose whether or not they can get raided by another channel.
Between that, KF farms being dropped by Cloudflare and a bunch of other backbone-of-web services, and The Internet Archive removing the back ups of Kiwi Farms, it's been a bad week for the poor, sad peepos who just happen to enjoy tormenting people.
