I usually post here first as part of my posting/organizing workflow, but I already posted these to Tumblr for reasons. Also with Sunshine Challenge coming up I need my content organized. So, mini post.

Pride Part 1?
Jun. 29th, 2023 05:05 pmPDX Pride is next month and we'll see how that shakes out. But, for now, how did June go?
* I threw money at some local queer artists for stickers, baked goods and a mess of a tarot reading. Including some I didn't post here because NSFW, but I knew it would amuse some people and yeah, always good to toss some bucks at artists.
* I found a small amount of local Pride things to photograph. I posted them around to show that Pride isn't completely dead. I feel like my image collection is pretty weak, but I still get excited/appreciative reactions to them. I wish I'd gotten more, but I can only walk so much. I still keep re-injuring my foot.
* I tried to go to things. Some of the little craft fairs things were like crowded and full of people wanting to sell me lighters with foam letters glued on or talk to me about Palestine and trust me I have my own opinions on the middle east and someone in hippy clothes trying to make intense eye contact is not going to sway me in whatever direction they're trying to.
The bar hang out thing was chill and I'm glad I went.
* I tried to find more social stuff to do and there actually is a new trans masc group on meetup. After two weeks they finally approved my membership and they are having the first meet up in a restaurant where I can't eat the food because that's always what happens. But I am planning to go anyway. I can order a salad and just have most of the stuff left off of it.
* Anything else? I tried to go some Bujo layouts for Pride but eh, they didn't really turn out. I planned to do one with a doodle page of things I find affirming, but I couldn't fill the page and just added a bunch of washi tape, which made for a very weird composition.
* OH RIGHT Guild Wars 2 had 4 in-game pride parades and I just sat and watched on Twitch because RP-walking for that long gets tedious... But the event raised over $11K for Rainbow Railroad with over a thousand... okay, exactly $1,000.69... one grand sixty nine (we are hilarious) coming from my guild.
I think that's it? I am not going to dwell on being my age and that being one of my best experiences with pride or the local queer community to date. Also not going to dwell on the hold-over-hippy scene in Portland and how weird they are about trans spaces. They kinda are 'binary is false' so they think all trans spaces/resources is for everyone, no matter how they self ID so they make 'how to' posts on how to get free stuff from trans spaces because according to their worldview transness doesn't really exist and it should all be for everyone. I can, unfortunately, explain the 'logic' if anyone is curious.
Also WTF is going on with the Q Center and something about union busting? Anyway yeah, those are other topics I should just hit post.
