Sep. 14th, 2023 12:01 am* Good news and horrible news in the local drinks scene.
The good... it's time...
It's time for some pumpkin beer and some pumpkin spice beer (and yes, those are very different things) So glad the Oakshire Black Jack is back, haven't seen it in years. Also, at check out the guy at the bottle store said that the Forbidden Pumpkin was going to be his after-work beer tonight, and you know you picked a good one when it's also what the employee is picking up.
The bad news is that Rev Nat's Cidery is closing and I am pretty upset. They were a huge part of the early cider scene here, helped build it, have been amazing people and great to the community. I assumed they were fine because they were old school and had just opened a tasting room, but it turns out that the location is one that's had trouble keeping tenants and it's likely they either got a sweetheart deal just so the space would be occupied or they literally had it for free for a bit to increase foot traffic for the surrounding area.
* Did a long photowalk and will go through them tomorrow. Not sure I got a lot, but it's time to rev up the photoblog again. I want to see if I can can post fresh spooky / halloweeny daily between the 15th and this month through Halloween.
