I am 35 years too late to the party, but I have finally posted smut for Rawhide/Perfect Tommy from Buckaroo Banzai. They are of OTP of mine from 1999 or so? Yeah, this is a touch overdue. But hey, at least it's the age of AO3 and fragile fanboys can't get my fic taken offline anymore. Yeah, still bitter about late 90s / early 2000s fandom shenanigans.
Anyway, it's A Festival Afternoon.
I came up with the idea for this and wrote a terrible stiff and stilted version not long after my injury. The amount of time I spent editing it into something passable was quite frankly nuts. It could actually use another pass or two, but it was time to call it good enough and move on. I'll be lucky to see the hit count get into double digits.
I've done A/V tech work for cons, so live show mishaps make sense to me in a few words. But trying to make it make sense to a reader who might not be familiar with live music was a thing. Especially since stage monitoring in the 80s worked differently than it does now.
I have a longer piece I want to write about them that I've had about a dozen false starts on. But, that is a project for another day. Now I need to pick which project to tackle next.
I am 4% of my way towards my published words goal for the year. Now I just need to think if I can count any of these words towards my GYWO count for the year. I edited it so much it's almost like I rewrote it all?
