Looks like I am starting on day 8.
Day 8
In your own space, post self-recs for at least three fanworks that you created. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
So go forth and celebrate what you have added to fandom! No matter how small or how seemingly unnoticed, it is all part of our world, and I for one appreciate its existence.
What I've added to fandom is mostly structural. I could write out a very long list of things I've done from convention running, forum modding, community running, stopping fan art theft, changing how a certain con treats sexuality and gender in it's forms, language and bathroom layouts and so much more. I know it would be a very long list because I did initially write it all out.
Now, I focus more on my own fanworks and fannish social life instead of working on platforms for others to for others to use, online and off. So, even though my main contributions were things like, well, a certain con's continued existence, I will stick to my creative works for this.
1) A Sorcerer's Request. IronStrange fic. I really like focusing on dialogue. Banter, jokes and characters giving each other crap can be fun, but it has to be the right tone or it's just mean. I am very particular about tone. I kept dithering on whether to recc this or An Overly Wrapped Present, which is much more banter focused, but Request is a better fic overall.
2) Away For the Holidays. Jooster holiday fic. I really like some of the banter and themes in this. I enjoy writing Wodehouse fic because I can really dive into descriptions and metaphors in a fun way.
3) And for my final pick, instead of thinking too hard I'll just go with my top kudos'd fic. Five Myths Dwarves Had About Elf Sex is a Gimli/Legolas. Humorous, but hopefully in a very in-universe way.
(I didn't think this post would take me long but wow it did. I wrote and rewrote about my work on fandom structure online and off and kept waffling on what to post.)
