The drama about Cap Marvel is making it hard to discuss anywhere

The Cap Marvel Easter Egg everyone is talking about? OMG they called it SHIELD and that is a Continuity Error between this film and Iron Man! Right, the organization was formed shortly after WW2 and it wasn't until 2009 when Tony the genius realized that the acronym for it was a word. For fuck's sake ...

There is a reason why so many are clutching so hard to his. The complaint everyone expected to have about the film simply wasn't there. For months I've seen seeing people say that they didn't really want to watch this film. They felt forced to because of Endgame. Cap Marvel would recontextualize events, have cameos from our fave heroes, and the tag scenes would give tons more info on Endgame. None of that happened. There is no reason to see this film outside of walking to see it. Kevin Feige the SWJ mastermind isn't holding anything over the main fan base to 'make' them to see this so they can 'get' Endgame.

You can see this without seeing other MCU films, you can see the rest of MCU and skip this film.

I was originally looking forward to seeing cameos and Endgame tidbits, but there were none and it's a stronger film for not having background news stories about Tony Stark driving naked in a convertible.

Ugh, this is like the Star Trek reboot all over again. People are so fraught that it's a mess.

Remember ten years ago when there first started to be coverage of woman-centric movies getting lower ratings and Rotten Tomatoes scores for misogynistic reasons? At the time it was a subtle thing, but resulted in overall lower earnings and opportunities for people who worked on those films? And it was something new and needed charts and other things to show that systemic sabotage was really happening? These days, nope, it's massive open brigading and Rotten Tomatoes had to change it's rules in an ultimately futile attempt to curb trolling.
