During SPN's 15 years

* I dealt with people have emotional breakdowns because they were so worked up after whether S2 would happen, or S3 would happen.

* I worked for Random Acts for 3 years.

* I did a lot of viewing parties, including one where I made a lot of pies. A lot:

* I was at Dante's the night Jensen showed up to be a back up singer for Christian Kane's band.





* I went to Wincon. I went to 2 Creation Cons.

* I saw fandom go from intensely LJ based, to Tumblr based to ... whatever it is now.

Wow, that is intense fan engagement! How much did you enjoy it? Those pies are fucking incredible! I didn't have watch parties because people around me didn't even know what the show was, let alone be interested.

I was really into it around 7-9, then my interest faded. I still watch it on occasion, if the reviews are good.

To me it's about time. I hope Jared doesn't have a nervous breakdown.

It's long past time, I think. I started to drift after season 5. SPN is one of those shows that really took the writer's strike in the teeth. Castiel was basically a giant fix-it for the show getting derailed by the strike.

For S1-3 I'd wait until the season was over and marathon it. Fandom was so intense that I couldn't deal. Local people were always desperate to find people to talk the show with, so I was always 'sorry, not caught up.' I enjoyed it more as a marathon anyway. I watched live S3-6 or so. At a point it really lost me with some of the weird stuff it pulled plotline wise.

I watched the episode called Ask Jeeves randomly last night, but it was mostly a Clue parody.

Awww, fannish history. The closest I came to SPN is seeing Christian Kane in Fulda Germany. I wasn't much of a supernatural fan. *g*

Dante's was nearly down the street from me at the time. I went to the first show not having heard any of the music. I really didn't expect to like a band that was some actor's side project. I was shocked to really like it. I loved those shows, but after the random Jensen appearance they got mobbed with pushy fans who would literally push me from my good vantage points I'd come early for because they were hoping for lightening to strike again.
