I am trying to get my walking/hiking endurance up. It's been ... pretty bad recently. I went on a 3 mile hike and then walked around the Sellwood area. 5.5 miles in all, some on concrete and some on mud.
I am using a tracking ap to see how far I wind up going on my walks and to track my endurance. It drains my battery a lot. I called a Lyft to get my home when my battery hit 20%. I didn't want to go below that just in case. As soon as I called it, my phone turned off. It gave up the ghost at 20%, either that or my battery is mis-reading. I just stood there in the rain waiting to see if a car would show or if I was going to have to figure out another way back. It showed! I was so glad to see it. Trying to figure out a different route back would have been a thing.
I stopped carrying paper bus tickets in my wallet after a fare change and ticket redesign. I need to see if paper tickets are still a thing and acquire some again. They are a good back up to have.
I am tired but not exhausted after my trekking, which is a good sign. Still, I need to really push myself more toward being trail hardy again. That means handling distance, variety of terrain, weather changes, etc. Walking in mud is much more tiring and uses muscles differently than a sidewalk does.
