I am going to break up a few parts of my trip by place or train route because it's easier to deal with.

The train between Anchorage and Seward had stunning views. Mountains, water, forests and rainbows. It's unspoiled wilderness on each side for roughly 99% of the trip. In terms of the views, it's the best I've seen from any train or boat or anything.

I was in Gold Star Class for this part of the trip, which meant I had access to a deck on the 2nd level of the train:

Gold Star comes with a bar and drink vouchers, so you can just hang out on the deck with a mimosa and let pictures like this fall into your camera:

It's hard to take well composed shots with the train zipping along, but it's also so scenic that amazing shots will happen.

And hey, they aren't great but I did get manage to catch the Bald Eagles:

Gold Star is amazing, but it's also in these shiny new cars that sort of feel like buses except for the bar, the deck and the total lack of cars or development. It was cool, but later I was in Adventure Class and that was more my scene.

Still, it feels silly to complain about anything:

Also, this is one of the train stations:

I didn't know about this. You can literally train out to wilderness areas and flag down the train to get back out. I want to do this, but it's not something I am going to do solo. You can hike out to glacier from this stop.

When I was leaving Seward going back to Anchorage, everyone else in Gold Star was fresh off of the cruise ship in nice clothes and styled hair. I'd just walked out of the woods wearing my pack. It was a bit awkward, but I wasn't going to waste a day of my trip hiding in a coffee shop to stay well coiffed for a train ride. The staff were fantastic, but some of the other riders were giving me the side-eye.

What being inside the car was looked like:

And one more random picture:

The section of rail between Anchorage and Seward is just ridiculously scenic.
