I was stocking up on food before Portlanders panic buy this weekend due to possible snow. With my allergies if my bread runs out I can't just buy the other brand. The store was playing Rush the whole time. I heard some people say it was because Neil Peart, drummer and lyricist, just died.
I used to listen to Rush constantly. Several of my attempts to diversify my music listening was to find things besides Rush to listen to. I first bought an album of their because lyrics from Roll The Bones were mentioned in a Mercedes Lackey novel. It used to be hard to find music outside the top 40, so if a band was mentioned in a book about Elves who race and build cars, I got it. I bought most of my music without even being able to listen to it first back then.
Spirit of Radio, what I linked above, is what's stuck in my head because that's what was playing when I checked twitter to confirm. They have a lot of great music.
