My plans for today involved doing test printing to see if my approach to making button designs would work, have it go well and then be energized to finish all the designs, secure in the knowledge they'd print fine.

That did not happen. The test print was a train wreck. I have to fully digitize the stuff, which can run into fiddly issues with sizing.

I am tempted to just try a different Kinko's first and see if they have different copiers. I was pretty surprised how freaking pixelated my stuff turned out. I could also try my own scans, but again, sizing issues.

Once I get a workflow, things should move fast. But figuring out the workflow is fussy and time consuming.

Ugh. You have my sympathies. Figuring out the fiddly bits for a new project is always such a pain.

The fact that your trad art pixelated... I don't know, it does sound like talking to another Kinko's branch might be worth a try. Assuming there's one relatively close by.

Oh yeah, I did know that about button image design. This process is out of my standard arts wheelhouse, but I do know several artists who make buttons from their art. I wish I had some proper technical advice to offer on this issue. Instead, I guess I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is merely an odd and temporary speed bump for the project.
